In order to collect versatile customer feedback, EASY SOFTWARE donates money for newly planted trees and fair payment to farmers in Nicaragua for each completed feedback survey. In this way, EASY motivates customers to increase the feedback rate by means of a reward that is non-beneficial for both business parties but meaningful nonetheless. In 2021 by October, approximately 250 trees have already been planted and cared for in this way.

Neither positive nor negative customer feedback is a given. However, both are important – also for the customers themselves. After all, it is only through meaningful feedback that they receive better service that precisely meets their needs. Especially at the end of a correspondence, however, many contacts lack the incentive to spend a few more minutes on feedback at this point where the relationship with the service provider has already ended for the time being. To reward this valuable extra effort, an environmentally friendly project creates the ideal win-win-win situation. Donating trees not only benefits the planet; it’s also a neutral reward that avoids influencing survey results.

An outside non-profit association does all the work behind the donations. The new trees are growing in Nicaragua, one of the poorest regions of Latin America, which is severely affected by climate change. Many small farmers there have had to cut down forests to keep their businesses alive for a short time. Today, this soil has dried up and can no longer store water. This is one of the reasons for the increasing frequency of floods.

The non-profit association pays Nicaraguan farmers to fairly buy back the parched land and then plant trees on that space. The farmers also receive a fair wage for maintaining the trees in perpetuity. According to an ecological strategic plan, trees may also be cut down after some time, recycled and new trees planted. Donations for this project therefore not only flow into climate protection, but also into climate justice between the global North and the global South.
