EASY Personnel – The Partner Consulting Team: Marcus Küppers

The Partner Consulting team supports existing and potential partners in making their businesses more successful with EASY solutions, both qualitatively and quantitatively. How exactly does that work? Specifically: Who has which duties, who’s on which team, and who are your contacts? In this occasional feature, we will be introducing you to the PartnerPort 2.0 and Partner Consulting teams. Today: Marcus Küppers, consultant with the Partner Consulting team at EASY SOFTWARE AG.

Hello Marcus, how long have you been with EASY, and what are your main duties here?

I worked at an EASY partner company in sales from 2006 to 2012, and essentially had my first experiences with EASY there. I’ve been with EASY SOFTWARE AG for just about two years, and I primarily work with topics related to EASY ECM, above all EASY HR and Contract, as well as DMS.

How would you describe your everyday work at EASY – specifically in relation to the solutions you named?

Whenever there are questions on the technology used in EASY Contract or HR, or whenever someone needs a clarification on processes or just general consulting, I’m their first contact person. But everyone on our team can also work on all of these issues as well. We work according to the principle: He who can, does.

Against this background, how important would you say the aspect of agility is?

It’s of the utmost importance for us. Our everyday work is very diverse, and you have to make sure that you are able to handle all of these different topics somehow. We do that very well in our team.

In your opinion, what skills are especially important in Partner Consulting?

If I relate this question to the entire team, I’d say you have to have a deep pool of specialised expertise. And it’s that huge spectrum of specialised knowledge that makes us unique. We have colleagues who have an insane amount of knowledge about technology, but they might not have any knowledge about pre-sales. And there’s someone else in our team that can take that over.

My skills are primarily in pre-sales. That’s why I can provide such good support to our partners in different meetings. This doesn’t have to relate specifically to the solutions EASY Contract or HR. I also have the necessary technical knowledge. This is a good combination, since it lets you know exactly what’s going to work – and what isn’t. That’s the only way to ensure optimal consulting for external partners.

How important is the issue of communication in all this?

We place a very high premium on communication. Our main focus in this context is on achieving better efficiency. Fast and effective communication is the key to outstanding quality service for our customers and partners.

What medium-term goals are you working on with your Partner Consulting team at EASY?

We have to make sure we become even more forceful than we already are. Our partners know we are still in a restructuring phase – keyword EASY FIT. In this context, I have to say we’ve accomplished a huge amount already in 2016. Action – reaction, processes, and structures – we’re getting better both internally and externally. We’ve already made a lot of progress in these areas, and now we need to not just maintain it but continue expanding it and driving it forward. Both external and internal communication and structure – those are my, and our, biggest goals.

When you’re not working as a Partner Consultant for EASY …

… then my family takes up most of my free time. Our daughter, the dog, the house … and everything that goes along with it (laughs). My second biggest passion after my family is definitely my Harley Davidson. I love to go touring, whenever the weather permits (laughs).
