EASY SOFTWARE has been providing standard solutions for the audit-proof archiving and management of documents and information from ERP systems for more than 20 years. And in that timeframe, it has done the same for SAP systems as well. With the minor release from EASY for SAP Archiving in version 7.1.0, we are now providing another iteration of the archiving software that is now in use at more than 1,000 customers. Having proven itself in several installations, with this minor release, we are now making an improved version available.


Features and functions to optimize the user ergonomics

With EASY for SAP Archiving 7.1.0, we are providing several improvements to the user guidance. The features and functions that are particularly worth mentioning include the following:

  • Improvements to the administration interface: improved user guidance through optimized Admin GUI on all relevant pages. In addition, a new input widget now especially improves the handling with numeric values.
  • Optimization of SmartAttach: SmartAttach allows for a link to be made between the documents in SAP and the documents from external systems. The new version significantly simplifies and optimizes the creation, editing and testing of a SmartAttach configuration because the preferences remain persistent. The administrator is therefore able to create SmartAttach configurations much more effectively. In response to numerous customer inquiries, we have also supplemented the documentation so that it is easily possible to link a single archive document with several SAP business objects of the same type. In this way, we are preventing multiple storage in the archive and enable a clear link to be made between several SAP business objects and a single archive document.
  • Optimization of SING: As is well known, this provides the user with improved search options in the EASY client. The log outputs have been optimized: in the case of failed SING runs due to configuration errors, for example. In addition to this, the log outputs have been extended at the end of the completion of a SING task for the case of direct import.

Components updated: for stability and security

Software products in the context of the archiving naturally have very long runtimes. This is a challenge that we have been, and continue to be, aware of. For this reason, we maintain and update our existing products on a regular basis – and have been doing so for more than twenty years. With EASY for SAP Archiving 7.1.0, we are also updating the components of the third-party manufacturers. At the same time, we are ensuring bug fixes and security updates. We understand stability, reliability and security as an ongoing process.
