The more specific, the better
Let’s look at a specific example: The human resources department at a large German retail group wanted a largely automated process to be able to increase salaries and make special payments to employees, such as bonuses, royalties or a payment to recognize a particular achievement. Of course, a letter should also be created for the employee and stored in the personnel file. The payment should also be written directly in the info-type 0015. It’s a requirement that exists or can arise in many companies in one way or another.
SAP-integrated HR process
In practice, employees and managers agree on a salary increase or special payment at an appraisal meeting. The manager informs the HR department of the details by email or by filling out a form in Excel. Once the check is complete, the HR department enters the data and then gives feedback to the manager.
During the technical implementation, EASY Process2Design in SAP ERP HCM or SAP Fiori can be used to create forms and define their management. This is followed by the creation of the required documents. Next comes the creation of the work-flow and its administration. The “trick” is to proceed on a step-by-step basis, i.e. to generate the document first, followed by the filing of the document and finally the info-type maintenance.
The process results in a solution that creates clarity, transparency and efficiency. Standardized processes relieve the HR department in particular, and also ensure shorter lead times. The HR department is also able to use the previous values in the future, when further payments are made. All in all, this leads to considerable savings for the retail group in question, which has to deal with some 2,000 of these processes each year.
Enjoy more advantages through customizing
But that’s not all. In our practical example, there were two special requests in the company division. On the one hand, there was the requirement to approve bonuses in excess of 300 Euros by the next executive up in the hierarchy, and on the other hand, “approvers” should also be able to access the tool from a mobile device. The interaction between EASY Process2Design and SAP HCM or Fiori was also able to fulfill these requirements, for example with a Fiori app.
As you can see: The focus of our community meeting is on the practical level. On a transparent and comprehensible basis, specific partner and customer applications communicate the way in which processes can be developed and implemented with EASY for SAP solutions in the area of SAP HCM and SuccessFactors – to the benefit of the respective company, but also as a possible inspiration for other companies.
