- IT company with direct end customer reference
- Integration in the existing business
- Regional strengthening of consulting business
Mülheim an der Ruhr (Germany), January 10, 2018 – EASY SOFTWARE AG (ISIN: DE0005634000), a leading developer and provider of cross-platform solutions in electronic archiving, document management and enterprise content management, acquired Systec GmbH, a Bielefeld-based IT company for document management. Founded in 1983, the Bielefeld-based IT company for document management with its nine employees recently generated external sales amounting to about €2 million, with more than €1 million of these through EASY SOFTWARE AG. The transaction is made as part of a share deal; it applies retroactively to January 1, 2018. The purchase price amounts to a maximum of €1.5 million.
After purchasing the ECM business sector of Schleupen AG last year, EASY SOFTWARE again strengthens inorganic growth by acquiring a former sales partner. However, unlike Schleupen Systec has essentially direct end customer access to a variety of interesting enterprises. Moreover, the existing trusted relationship makes integration easier. EASY will also win qualified employees, strengthening its regional position in the German states of Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. “With this purchase, we are strengthening our presence in the named region. Through this we will win new, competent employees and underpin our growth,” says EASY CFO Thorsten Eska, explaining the background to this strategic acquisition.
The opportunity for the purchase emerged in that Karl-Heinz Claes, managing director of Systec, was looking for a successor solution in order to dedicate his time in future to other projects. Transitionally, however, he will be a consultant to the company even after the acquisition: “In EASY SOFTWARE AG we found a buyer who shares our claim to reliability, competency, and customer proximity and who is excellently positioned to serve the increasing demand of midsize businesses for solutions to increase the efficiency of document-bound business processes.”
