Software Development Kit (SDK)

A software development kit provides the tools for software developers. Metaphorically speaking, the SDK is a toolbox – in reality a program which comprises and provides a toolchain. An SDK’s tools often include APIs, program libraries, documentation, compilers, interpreters, etc. The contents vary with the objective and task of the SDK.
