As part of the Email Security Year 2025 initiative launched by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), easy software AG was inducted into the BSI Email Hall of Fame in Berlin on August 22, 2025. The award recognizes easy’s commitment to improving its own email infrastructure as a contribution to cyber security in Germany. Customers also benefit from the high, state-of-the-art security standards that easy applies and adheres to.
The aim of the BSI’s Email Security Year is to make email communication noticeably more secure for citizens and businesses. Together with partners such as eco and Bitkom, the BSI is focusing on the widespread implementation of recommended security standards such as DMARC, DKIM, SPF, DANE, and DNSSEC. The use of these technologies helps to significantly reduce the volume of malicious emails—such as spam and phishing—and to strengthen the confidentiality and integrity of communications in the long term.
easy software has already implemented such concrete measures to secure its own email infrastructure. This benefits not only its own employees, but also its customers in particular: the implementation of modern authentication procedures significantly reduces the risk of identity theft and spoofing (i.e., sending seemingly trustworthy emails). In addition, improved transport encryption protects sensitive content from unauthorized access.
“Cybersecurity is not an end in itself. It is a prerequisite for trust and economic stability. As a provider of archiving solutions for important company documents, we are aware of the importance of IT security and are therefore continuously committed to high security standards,” says Andreas Fey, CIO at easy.
The BSI also emphasizes the importance of this commitment. “We cannot convincingly discuss the security of AI and quantum computing until we are all prepared to operate everyday technologies such as email securely and make them resilient to attacks,” says Claudia Plattner, President of the BSI.
With its induction into the Hall of Fame, easy software is being recognized as a pioneer in secure digital communication – and as an active contributor to a resilient digital Germany.
